Grandparents Day! Happy Thanksgiving!

Last Friday was Grandparents day at Julia's school, it is an annual event that the school puts on to celebrate Thanksgiving. All the kids dress up as Pilgrims and Indians(native Americans)- also they have lots of food and fun. Julia had her grandparents there with her. We had a turkey dinner in her classroom and made crafts. They even had a real live turkey! Gobble Gobble!I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.

Julia's Dream

Julia woke up this morning and immediately started telling me about the dream that she had last night......her teacher told me that she told her about it also........I just had to share.........

She said........" I dreamed that we were at a hotel and we were just coming back from the pool and we got to the room there was an angel standing on the bed, and the angel said " God has risen "...and it was Easter morning .....and then we called God on the telephone and then God looked through the window and the light was so bright ! I promised God that I will walk in His light and God promised that He will come back again soon!" ---Julia Poe age 5

This is my daughter Julia's birth verse........Matthew 10:7 As you go, preach this message: 'The kingdom of heaven is near.' ......

Mexico Mission

We had a very special opportunity, to build a loft house in Mexico. Our Church has been involved in the Mexico loft house build mission for several years now, and have built many many homes for people without a home in Mexico.......our church is not the only church that is involved....many churches and organizations have been doing this through an organization called"Hands of Mercy".
We started out building the houses in the parking lot at the church , one week prior to traveling to Mexico.......after the panels are built in the parking lot , they are loaded onto utility trailers and then are ready to travel to their building site....this trip we took six house in all......we hauled one of them behind our truck.
The family that we built the house for , had six kids and the mother was about 8 months pregnant with # 7 ! The family was staying with another family in a small building and they have no electricity, no running water, not much of anything at all. The kids are so sweet, I wish we could have taken them home with us......the loft houses aren't very big and they are bare basics.....but the people are very thankful and excited to have a place of their own. It really is amazing that so many people have to live with so little in this day and age.
Doug , Julia and I are so blessed to be able to have had this experience and we want to go back the next trip. Thanksgiving is starting early this year..............we are so blessed to live in this country and have the things that we have.
