Remember " In God We Trust"

Blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they go right on producing delicious fruit." Jeremiah 17:7-8

I have been young, and now I am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, or his descendants begging bread. Psalms 37:25

This weeks financial news was a sobering reminder of just how things of this world can fall apart at the seams and be so "scary".......I also received very sad news of the death of my cousin who was only 39 years old...........it is concerning and hard news to bear, this temporary life is not where we need to put our hope and confidence.....Putting our Trust in the Lord is the only way to be truly "set for life". People may not know what to do, but God does,
The Lord tells us in Jeremiah 33:3 " Call to Me, and I will answer you and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know."

And Psalm 46 says, "God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; Though its waters roar and foam, Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, The holy dwelling places of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered; He raised His voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Come, behold the works of the Lord, Who has wrought desolation's in the earth. He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariots with fire. " Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold.

So I can put my money in various banks and trusts.......and I am alive and breathing so far today........but real security is knowing that my hope and confidence is in the glory of God Almighty , He is eternal. And He cares about us.
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you.
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden , and I will give you rest."

"The Woman at the Well (Living Water)"

A few months ago, right after I started this blog, I saw an ad on Craigs list for some bar stools that really looked like they would be great for our kitchen counter seating......I showed the ad to Doug and he agreed that we should go look at them......the people that were selling the bar stools were selling all the furnishings of the house, and when I called, the man mentioned that he had a house full of things for sale and maybe I would look at the bar stools and look around at the other things as well.......so when we got there we really liked the bar stools and decided to buy them......
There was something else that caught my eye.......it wasn't something that I would have ever went out looking to find and not something that I would have expected to even want in my house.......It was a statue lamp of the woman at the well.......you know, like the one in the Bible story........the one in my birth verse that Jesus tells ......the water I give you, you will never thirst again.......! It is a beautiful lamp.......and it does go nice in our bedroom......but it was more than that to me.......it was like a reminder of my birth verse and I felt like we were meant to find it..............I recently wrote another song........the song is titled " The Woman at the Well (Living Water) " and John 4 ( the story of when Jesus meets this Samaritan woman at the well ) is the inspiration for the song.

Below are the lyrics and the recording is above

You ask me what I'm doin', my life's been improvin'
How is it I'm doin' so well?
You remember me when, my life was in a ruin
Frankly I was headed for Hell.
Then Jesus met me at the well
And He knew me better then I know myself

And He gave me Living Water and I, I'll never thirst again
He gave me Living Water, and I, I'll never thirst again.

I am so thankful , He is so faithful
I just want to tell everyone
Isn't it amazing, all the hope His grace brings
Just look what the good Lord has done
When Jesus met me at the well
And He knew me better then I know myself

And He gave me Living Water, and I, I'll never thirst again
He gave me Living Water, and I, I'll never thirst again.

I was so thirsty, empty inside.
And Jesus filled me, I'm satisfied

Cuz He gave me Living Water, and I, I'll never thirst again
He gave me Living Water, and I, I'll never thirst again.
